Cancellation/Return/Refund Policy

Cancellation Policy:

There is a 2.9% cancellation fee for any orders over $200. (Shopify charges 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction which is non refundable on cancellation from Shopify.)

Return Policy:

We want you to love your new gear! 

However, if you do need to return an item, orders can be returned within 30 days of shipping date. If 30 days have gone by since shipping, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused, in the original packaging and in the same condition that you received it.

Several types of goods are exempt from being returned.  Non-returnable items include:

  • Gift cards
  • Downloadable software products
  • Books or magazines
  • Some medical,health and personal care items
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) like gas masks, filters and hazmat suits are NON-REFUNDABLE for safety purposes.

Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer unless you are directed to by us.

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted.  This is decided on a discretionary basis.

Unless an item is being returned for being defective or if an error has occurred and you receive an incorrect item (Sorry, we’re human, too!), you will be responsible for paying for your own return shipping costs.

For international returns, label the package as "RETURN"

If you are returning an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

Refunds (if applicable):

On orders for which we provide free shipping, the original cost of shipping the product will be deducted from your refund.  (Unless an item is defective or an error on our part has occurred, as indicated in the Returns section above.)

Only regularly priced items can be refunded. Unfortunately, sale items cannot be refunded.

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email notification that we have received your returned item and notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If the refund is approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment.

You will receive an email notification of the refund and amount.

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again. Then contact your credit card company.  There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Exchanges (if applicable):

We are happy to exchange items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at: info@canadianpreparedness.com and send your item to:

Gifts

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return.
